Sam Bradford Fighting Through Ankle Soreness In Rams OTAs

St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford battled through a difficult campaign last season, but he is getting back to business in minicamp this May. The Rams' franchise QB suffered a sprained ankle on October 16 against the Green Bay Packers, missed six games as a result, rehabbed during the offseason and is still dealing with lingering soreness in his ankle. He admitted his ankle is still sore to Kathleen Nelson of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, but Bradford still thinks his recovery is going well: "It's getting there. It seems to feel better every week. There's less soreness, more things I can do. I think it's definitely on the right track."

As far as OTAs, Bradford is busy digesting Brian Schottenheimer's new offense that Jeff Fisher estimated is 70 percent installed at this point. The new scheme is at least partially similar to the one Bradford ran during his rookie season, so the transition is going smoothly. Perhaps the biggest boost for the QB is the addition of Frank Cignetti as his position coach this year (Josh McDaniels served as offensive coordinator and QB coach last season):

"[Cignetti] really knows what he's doing when it comes to coaching quarterbacks. He's all over fundamentals. Every day he points something out on tape, whether it be my drop, my arm angle, something like that. Whereas last year, not having that, I feel like I probably missed some things and probably got a little lazy. Having him here keeps me very sharp with all the little things, which is very nice."
