Rams Offseason 2012: Rams Discussing Extensions With Long, Laurinaitis

The St. Louis Rams started to a mold a new future for themselves with the hiring of head coach Jeff Fisher and GM Les Snead, and now the latter is looking to secure two of the team's best young players. According to COO Kevin Demoff, the team has began preliminary contract extension talks with James Laurinaitis and Chris Long.

Although the talks are in their infancy, Demoff also said that the the Rams have "plenty of cap room in 2013 and the plan is to re-sign both of them." Neither player will likely come cheap, but they won't break the bank, either, and the Rams could use young players with experience as they look to rebuild the team from the ground up.
