Rams Attempting To Trade Bradley Fletcher, According To Report

As the St. Louis Rams trim their roster down to the mandated 53 players, there are also rumors swirling that the team is shopping cornerback Bradley Fletcher. Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported the news Saturday morning.

The report gave no indication where Bradley might go or whether a deal was in the works. According to Thomas, the Fletcher news means rookie Trumaine Johnson has earned the third cornerback position on the Rams' depth charts. Thomas also indicated that the Rams would rather not pay Fletcher his $1.2 million base salary to be their number four defensive back.

Fletcher played in only four games last season due to an ACL tear, his second in three years. He recorded 23 tackles and one pass deflected.

The team also announced they've released veteran backup quarterback Kellen Clemens, paving the way for rookie quarterback Austin Davis as the only backup behind Sam Bradford.
