NFL Power Rankings 2012: St. Louis Rams Near The Bottom

Whatever optimism exists about the St. Louis Rams 2012 season hasn't extended to the Worldwide Leader, as ESPN.com's NFL Power Rankings have the Rams at No. 28 before Week 1. The Detroit Lions, their opponent on Sunday, checks in at No. 8.

If St. Louis is going to pull off the upset this week, it will be a surprise to most everyone around the NFL.

It would also be an opportunity for Sam Bradford to re-assert himself among the league's young QB's, as the former Rookie of the Year has slipped below the radar after an injury plagued 2012.

He'll be hoping to follow the career path of the other former No. 1 overall pick across from him on Sunday, as Matt Stafford put himself on the map in 2011 with a dominant season that ended with a playoff berth.
