Matthew Stafford led a game-winning touchdown drive as the Lions topped the Rams 27-23. Stafford rebounded from three interceptions to throw a five yard TD pass to Kevin Smith with ten seconds remaining.
Stafford ended the day 32 of 48 for 355 yards with a score and three picks. Smith led all rushers with 62 yards on 13 attepmts and a touchdown.
Knotted at 20-20 in the final minutes of the games, Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein nailed a 46-yarder to give St. Louis a 23-20 lead. The Lions marched down the 80 yards over nine plays, eventually ending in the Smith touchdown.
St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford was mediocre Sunday, completing 17 of 25 passes for 198 yards and a score.
Detroit wideout Calvin Johnson led all receivers with six receptions for 111 yards.
